The game begins soon after Donkey Kong has been kidnapped by the prime antagonist Kaptain K. DKC2 was later also released on the Game Boy Advance in 2004 and was until recently available for download on the Wii's Virtual Console, having become one of the most popular games of its age. Donkey Kong Country 2 is a sequel to the original Donkey Kong Country which was later followed by Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!. Donkey Kong Country 2 was first released on 20 November 1995 in North America and stars Diddy Kong and Dixie Kong as the main characters of the game.
